Yael Stone, who was born in Australia and living in New York City in 2013 in the film, played Lorna Mello as an inmate in Orange Is the New Black. Yael is a graduate of NIDA. Yael, despite her young years, has had the privilege of learning from Australia's most renowned storytellers. Yael is well-known as an actor throughout Australia. A continuing collaboration with Australia's much-lauded director Neil Armfield culminated in the internationally-renowned production Diary of a Madman, in which she starred opposite Academy- Emmy- and Tony Award-winning actor Geoffrey Rush. Yael discovered her new home with the city of New York City when the production was acclaimed at The Brooklyn Academy of Music (BAM). Yael was co-founder at The Cannery. It's located in Bushwick Brooklyn and operates in the city to promote the creative process, and to create new writing.
